  47. Update / Installation of the MovieDatabase 3.5:

  50. If you want to use _all_ features of the MovieDataBase, you need to have at
  51. least  100  MB  free  diskspace and about 4 MB Ram.  A fast processor and a
  52. fast harddiskdrive is very recommended.

  54. The complete database package consists of the following files:

  56. AMINET-Distribution:

  58.     * imdb3_5_bin.lha    contains the main program, the documentation,
  59.                          the 'ApplyDiffs'-utility and some ARexx-scripts.

  71. Note: You  can  still use most of the databasefiles of older distributions.
  72.       But  you  should  be aware that those lists are quite out of date and
  73.       MovieMUI might refuse to update some of them.  Now is the time to get
  74.       your local installation up-to-date!

  80. - Unpack the binaries-archive.  You don't need to unpack the data archives.
  81.   The installer-script will do this for you.

  83. - If   you   have   about  220   MB  diskspace  available, simply  run  the
  84.   installer-script  by  double-clicking its icon.  If not, read the chapter
  85.   about installation in the MovieMUI.guide file.

  95. The   Internet  Movie  Database  is  an  international  organization  whose
  96. objective  is  to  provide useful and up to date movie information *freely*
  97. available  on-line,  across  as many systems and platforms as possible.  It
  98. currently covers over 90,000 movies with over 1,300,000 filmography entries
  99. and is expanding continuously.

  102. composers,   cinematographers,   editors,   production  designers,  costume
  103. designers, producers and a miscellaneous catch all section; plot summaries;

  105. trivia;  quotes;  goofs;  soundtracks;  personal trivia; alternative names;
  106. certificates;  color information; country of production; genres; production
  107. companies;    sound   mix;   reference   literature;   filming   locations;
  108. sequel/remake  information;  release dates; advertising tag lines; detailed
  109. technical  data;  alternative versions; laserdisc availability; and Academy

  112. The database aims to capture any and all information associated with movies
  113. from  across the world, starting with the earliest cinema, going through to
  114. the  very  latest  releases  and  even  movies  still  in production.  Many
  115. thousands  of  movies  are  covered completely from the major actors to the
  116. minor  bit  players  and  crew members.  All the information comes from the
  117. users of the database so please continue to support it and help it to grow.
  118. The database is updated weekly and is available over the world wide web, an
  119. e-mail  interface  or  for  local  installation  on  Unix, Amiga and MS-DOS
  120. machines.
